Radio Interview

Dr. Stephanie Mills

In July 2016 I was in a radio interview on New Hampshire radio station 107.7 “The Pulse” WTPL-FM (www.wtplfm.com) by former Ms. America (2014-15), Dr. Stephanie Mills who is  also a doctor of chiropractic.  Dr. Mills, Clinic Director at Crossroads Chiropractic in New Hampshire, and I  spoke on a myriad of topics which I believe you will find very interesting.  So sit back and enjoy a Half Hour of Health.

Usain Bolt’s Olympic Secret

Tonight is the Opening Ceremony of the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics, and all the talk is about one man breaking records in track and Field.
The fastest man who has ever lived is entering his last Olympics. His goal is to win three more medals. He has never lost a 100 meter final at the Olympics or world Championships. This consistency is amazing given the extreme demands of his sport. What’s his secret?

He sees a #chiropractor  to make sure everything is in alignment before he blasts off the line. In interviews he reports a history of scoliosis (or curvature of the spine). With chiropractic, proper training and an intense desire to win he has dominated a very competitive sport for years. Usain Bolt says “When I was younger, the #scoliosis   wasn’t really a problem. But you grow and it gets worse. My spine was really curved bad. The early part of my career, when we didn’t really know much about it, it really hampered me because I got injured every year. I’ve worked hard over the years. I’ve been injured and I’ve worked hard through it, and I’ve made it. As long as I’m in great shape, nobody beats me, for sure.”

Sprinters get injured frequently. Because of the ballistic forces involved in their sport, they tear muscles and tend to wrench their spines out of place. It’s a young man’s sport. Good sprinters may last a year or two before they reach their peak and leave sprinting forever. Mr. Bolt is almost 30. He’s heading for his last Olympics. He’s beating the odds and competing at the highest levels with chiropractic!

If your “track record” is not as good as Mr. Bolt’s, or you’d just like to be and stay healthy, call your family chiropractor and schedule a wellness checkup. www.SnyderFamilyChiro.com

DIY Spine Exam

I know spinal  hygiene can be confusing and that chiropractic care is also often a pool of misinformation in the public eye.  It is for this reason I created this brief video to show you a hands on way to assess spinal motion and get a sense if you would need a chiropractor.

If you notice restriction or discomfort, I urge you not to wait.  However, the absence of pain or the lack of awareness or decreased motion doesn’t necessarily mean your spine is fine.  It takes a doctor of chiropractic to properly assess the functional state of your spine.

How it done in our practice:

First, we review your health history.  Then we have a consultation, followed by a comprehensive examination if warranted.  The examination consists of the following:

  • Posture
  • Range of motion
  • Specific orthopedic and neurological tests if needed
  • Static and motion palpation of your spine
  • A chiropractic neuro-spinal assessment assessing for vertebral subluxation
  • State of the art computerized technological spinal assessment using the Insight Millenniu

I hope you gained some value from watching the video above.

Visceral Organ Complaints

image

MOST PEOPLE DON’T KNOW – that the Visceral nerves that come out of the spine control and coordinate the function of the organs of the body!

Misaligned of the spinal vertebrae can interfere with how the nerves send and receive information from the brain.

Regular chiropractic care can be an excellent tool to help your body stay healthy. We need clear lines of communication in order for our body to function optimally!

Big Idea

Understand the Big Idea of Chiropractic and you will understand the magnitude of how restoring health through natural Chiropractic Care can positively influence this world beyond measure. The video below is in the words and the voice Dr. BJ Palmer, the developer of the Chiropractic profession from the early 1900s. The video footage shows Dr Palmer specifically adjusting and restoring neuro spinal function by the reduction of subluxation in these patients.

Listen to the message and understand that I too hold this vision in that adjusting one person and restoring function and health to that one person multiplied over and over again can have a significantly positive impact on our communities and the world.

What can chiropractic care do for you? The only way you’ll know is by getting your spine checked and adjusted by a chiropractor  to restore 100% communication between brain and body.

Neuro Immune Connection

David Felton, MD, Ph.D is Professor of neurobiology and Anatomy at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. He and his wife, Suzanne Felton, Ph.D, have discovered nerve fibers that physically link the nervous system and the immune system. Dr. Felton was the recipient of a MacArthur Foundation prize Fellowship in 1983 and is associated of the journal brain, behavior and immunity.

What you see below is taken from the book Healing and the Mind.

Dr. Felton States that by finding nerve fibers running through the spleen it suggest that the nerves might influence the immune system. This is something that we see in practice every day at Snyder Family Chiropractic when reducing stress on the neuro spinal systems people receiving care get sick less frequently.

Spinal Adjusting and the Brain

Manipulation of Dysfunctional Spinal Joints Affects Sensorimotor Integration in the Prefrontal Cortex: A Brain Source Localization Study. – PubMed – NCBI

Study Conclusion. “A single session of spinal manipulation of dysfunctional segments in subclinical pain patients alters somatosensory processing at the cortical level, particularly within the prefrontal cortex.”

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27047694/

Basically means adjusting positively impacts brain to body signaling.

Chiropractic spinal Corrections not only effect pain patterns positively but influences brain wave integration positively as well.

This could be one reason why children with ADHD and other behavioral problems benefit greatly from a conservative Safe Care.

Adults, as well who suffer from anxiety and depression benefit from natural methods of healing through Chiropractic Care.

We’ve seen these consistent results through the years of practice.

Be glad if you’re getting adjusted!

Seniors that received chiropractic care had a 76% lower rate of injury within seven days of treatment when compared to the subjects that met with their primary physician as a result of a neuromusculoskeletal complaint.
